So, we have not discussed the Brain Rules in a while…

I was thrilled when 8th period class member AnnaSB produced (with the help of many friends) this short video in reference to Brain Rule #7: Sleep well, think well.

In particular, the “nap zone” is a period of time during each day when your homestatic sleep curve interacts with your circadian arousal curve. This screen shot from the Brain Rules website explains best:

So, we have tried to expose this natural biorhythm in our class (at least the one that rotates thru the nap zone each week). Droopy eyes are not necessarily an indication of a boring lesson, but may be due to the effects of the nap zone (and made worse by sleep debt).
